When we are young, we often do not think that the aging process
will one day affect the condition and appearance of our skin.
Although aging is part and parcel of life, that doesn’t mean that we need to
leave its “evidence” on our face. Telltale signs such as wrinkles,
freckle-like blotches and rough skin are markers of “premature” aging and
are primarily caused by direct and indirect exposure to the sun. In fact, 80% of
facial skin aging is attributable to sun exposure. Use an external application of
antioxidant to fight the damages of free radicals caused by UV rays.
Do you know that there is an existing all-in-one-skin care product out in the
market today? Natopherol Dermal-E, a skin care product by Abbott Laboratories,
an international pharmaceutical company, helps nurture not only your face, but
other areas of your body, such as your neck, hands, elbows, knees or legs.
Natopherol Dermal E by Abbott Laboratories is naturally derived
vitamin E from pure sunflower seeds with d-alpha tocopherol being its active
ingredient – A Superior Antioxidant.
When applied regularly, Natopherol Dermal E works wonders to
prevent and improve the appearance of wrinkles, dry and rough skin, uneven skin
tone, enlarged pores, wound healing and scars. It also regulates skin’s sebum
secretion to reduce oiliness and prevent blackheads and acne.

Problems with Dry Skin
When one matures, many parts of the body functions decline and this includes
the sebaceous glands. The function of sebaceous glands is to secrete sebum that
helps to retard evaporation of moisture from the surface of the skin. Reduced
sebum secretion due to aging results in dry skin. When skin dries, it is more
prone to cracks, scaling and irritation. Therefore, it is very important to
replace moisture in skin. There are two mechanisms in which moisture in skin can
be replenished. One is by applying a layer of moisturizer to retard evaporation
of water from the surface of the skin. The second way is by increasing water
permeability in skin to allow more moisture to be trapped within the skin layers
for deeper hydration throughout the layers.
My 60-year old mother has very dry, flaky and sensitive skin. Her doctor has
advised her not to use any skin care products that contain fragrances and
preservatives. Can she use Natopherol DERMAL-E?
Pure Vitamin E is not only a good moisturizer for fast relief of dry skin but it
also improves skin permeability to moisture and enables further hydration of
skin. It helps to enhance the effects of other moisturizers when used
concurrently. Therefore, this makes Natopherol DERMAL-E very effective on dry
and scaly skin. It is also fragrance and preservative-free therefore making it
suitable for sensitive skin.

Problems with Oily Skin
Oily skin is caused by excessive secretion of sebum i.e. a mixture of oil and
wax from your sebaceous gland, commonly known as oil gland. Most of the
sebaceous glands in the body can be found on the face, mainly at the forehead,
nose and chin, commonly known as T-zone. During adolescence, increased
production of sexual hormone stimulates the activity of sebaceous glands to
secrete excessive sebum and this causes an oily face. Once there is a blockage
in the outflow of the excessive sebum from the hair follicles, pimples will
form. The initial stage of a pimple is called a closed comedo (white head), and
it is not apparent on the surface of the skin. Additional sebum secretion
creates internal pressure to push the closed comedo out of the surface of the
skin, which results in an open comedo. The tip of the open comedo is easily
oxidized and it eventually turns black, hence it is commonly known as black
head.
Some black heads degenerate further into papules when infected by bacteria.
Certain types of bacteria feed on the sebum of the papules and cause an
inflammation on the skin. If no precaution is taken, papules can further worsen
into pustules where pus is formed and the surrounding tissue breaks down to
cause permanent scarring.
Natopherol DERMAL-E contains Vitamin E in an oil form but my face is also
oily, especially at my T-zone. Is it suitable for me?
Natopherol DERMAL-E contains pure Vitamin E, which when it is in its natural
state it is in the form of oil. Although it is in the form of oil, it displays
anti-seborrhoiec activity and is able to reduce facial oil secretion
effectively, up to 73%! When used regularly, it will be able to reduce oiliness
on the T-zone. For initial use, you need to only apply it sparingly and massage
face lightly to promote better absorption.
I have red, inflamed pimples on my face, especially on the cheeks. Can
Natopherol DERMAL-E help?
Pure natural Vitamin E as in Natopherol DERMAL-E displays not only anti-seborrhoiec
or anti-sebum activity, it also has anti-inflammatory effect and is capable of
reducing redness and mild swelling around pimples. Do apply sparingly around the
pimples twice a day for ideal results. If a topical antibiotic is required,
apply Natopherol DERMAL-E first after proper cleansing, massage lightly until it
is well absorbed, then apply topical antibiotic lotion or cream over it.

Dark Patches/Uneven
Skin Tone
Freckled patches or uneven skin tone is one of the most common skin problems
faced by fair skin individuals. The problem areas are usually found on parts of
the body that are more noticeable such as the face and arms.
There are many reasons as to why these dark patches appear but one of the
more common causes is excessive exposure to the sun’s UV rays. It is the short
wavelength ones called UVB that holds intensive heat and they are the main
contributing factor in the formation of dark patches.
UVB rays generate a harmful compound called free radical that causes severe
damage to melanocyte cells at the top layer of your skin, namely the epidermis.
When damaged, melanocytes become overactive and start to produce excessive
melanin pigment, which eventually lead to uneven dark patches.
The only logical way to reduce dark patches is to minimize exposure to the
sun and at the same time protect melanocyte cells from free radicals generated
by the sun.
My work requires me to be frequently exposed to the sun. I have dark patches
on my face. How can Natopherol DERMAL-E help?
Exposure to UV rays is one of the most common causes of dark patches or uneven
skin tone formation on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face and arms. Free
radicals generated by the UV rays affect the pigment cells and cause them to
produce abnormally excessive pigmentation that turns into dark patches on the
skin surface. Apart from regular usage of sunscreen daily, Natopherol DERMAL-E
with pure natural Vitamin E helps to protect pigment cells from harmful UV rays
and to improve dark patches. Moreover, natural Vitamin E also displays an SPF 2,
which will effectively protect skin from low to medium UV rays exposure.
How long does it take for Natopherol Dermal-E to improve my dark patches?
It all depends on how severe your condition is. If dark patches were formed due
to over exposure to UV rays, then you would be able to see almost immediate
improvement. The procedure would take about 1 to 2 months, with a twice-daily
application and additional usage of sunscreen on top of it. If the dark patches
are formed due to other reasons such as hormonal changes, medication,
genetically inherited, you should also seek medical advice from a qualified skin
specialist.

Scars
Wound healing is a process whereby regeneration of cells, collagen and
elastin happens rapidly after an injury. The process requires a sufficient
supply of nutrients and oxygen to the injured or scraped areas to ensure rapid
healing.
As the wound heals, an over-activity of fibroblast cells in the production of
collagen and elastin can sometimes happen. This can lead to tissues overgrowing
and uneven wound repair, causing scars and sometimes keloids.
Vitamin E was found to increase blood and oxygen supply to wound site and
help the healing process. It normalizes cell activities, especially fibroblast
cells at areas of injury and abrasion to prevent the formation of scars and
keloids.
I am recovering from a bout of chicken pox. Can Natopherol Dermal-E help to
quicken the wound healing and prevent scar formation?
Yes, Natopherol Dermal can be used and has been proven to effectively promote
wound healing and prevent scar formation. Apply Natopherol Dermal twice a day on
the dried wound, for about a month to prevent scars.
I just had a caesarean 3 months ago and I can feel keloid forming at the
wound site. Can Natopherol Dermal-E help to reduce the keloid?
Once the operation wound dries up you can immediately apply Natopherol Dermal.
It not only helps to promote wound healing it can help to prevent scaring and
keloid formation. With twice a day application for about a month, Natopherol
Dermal is also effective in reducing early stage keloid formation.

Usage of Natopherol
Dermal-E
I find Natopherol DERMAL-E really good for my skin. However, the capsule form
is rather inconvenient. Can you please pack the content in a bottle for easier
usage?
Natopherol DERMAL-E contains pure natural Vitamin E (its active ingredient is
d-alpha tocopherol). Your skin can easily absorb it and it is a very effective
anti-oxidant against the formation of wrinkles, dark patches and rough skin. It
is also an anti-seborrhoeic agent that reduces facial oil secretion. It is a
good moisturizer and it helps wounds to heal and reduces scar formation.
However, pure natural Vitamin E is easily damaged when exposed to light and air.
Therefore, only the hermetically sealed G-tech capsule used to store Natopherol
DERMAL-E is able to protect its content and ensure maximum delivery of the
effects of Vitamin E on your skin.
How many times a day do I use Natopherol DERMAL-E? Can I use it before
putting on my make-up?
It is recommended to use Natopherol DERMAL-E twice a day. Once in the morning
under your make-up for protection against the harmful effects of free radicals
from UV rays, and once at night to moisturize and rejuvenate your skin after the
complete removal of your make-up and proper cleansing.
I have a small face and I find that one capsule is too much for a one time
use. How much do I need to apply every time? Do I need to finish the entire
capsule of Natopherol DERMAL-E in one application or can I keep the opened
capsule for a few days in a fridge?
You only need to apply a sufficient amount of Dermal-E and massage lightly to
ensure good absorption. The recommended usage of ‘one capsule a time’ as
stated on the packaging is only meant for application on open wounds so as to
avoid contamination caused by repetitive usage. When used on the face for
skincare, the opened capsule can be kept over a period of 3 days, after which
the pure natural Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) may lose some of its potency.
Therefore, it is encouraged to use up the content within 3 days. Keep it in a
cool place, away from direct sunlight
